5/5 angel wings for Story

Starring: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker

Buckle up boys and girls, get ready for one topsy turvy, upside down thrill ride, because that is exactly what you’re going to get with the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. The story is simple. Peter Quill, taken as a young boy from Earth, is a rogue…a charming thief…and a bounty hunter. After finding a special orb, wanted by the evil Ronan, Quill is forced to make peace with those who were sent after him, and together, they all form an alliance to save the world. There’s a gun toting raccoon named Rocket, and his sidekick, the gentle, till angered, Groot, who’s a walking tree. Gamora and Drax the destroyer round out the gang, and they do all they can to prevent the destruction of the galaxy.

This was one great movie! And to be honest, it wasn’t one that I was particularly interested in seeing. However, five minutes into the movie, I was hooked. It’s worth the cost of the ticket and popcorn, and if you haven’t seen this one yet…you should.

I’m honestly not sure where to start. I took a liking to this series from the moment I finished the first book. I’m sad that it ended but also happy with the outcome.

In Dragon’s Revenge, the Hunters of Reloria are still fighting the good and noble fight. Again new allies and enemies are met. Friends are won and lost as with battles. The strength of halflings, fairies, wizards, dwarfs, elves, dragons are tested when almost an entire race is laid to waste.

I won’t give anymore away, but I will say each scene is written to pull you in further. I would recommend this series to fantasy lovers young and old. The entire series is well written and put together. The characters are engaging. You laugh, cry, and root for the Hunters and their fight to save their planet. I’ll definitely will be re-reading this series again.

In this second installment of the Hunters of Reloria Trilogy things start to get very intense. Reloria is under siege from the evil Vergai invaders. They have captured the Elven Jewel, but she is feisty and holding her own.

We see our Hunters encounter a host of new allies that lend aid along their hard journey. I believe the mermaids were my favorite. Their journey is fraught with up-hill battles that they have to overcome. The introduction of new characters along the way added additional depth to the story. We get to see Rendi, Fendi, and the others grow just a little more.

I’ve said this in a previous review, I haven’t read a good fantasy since The Lord of The Rings, but Kasper Beaumont has put me on the path to yet another that I would likely read more than once. The descriptions of characters and places will transport you to Reloria and into the hearts of the Hunters themselves.

If you like fairies, dragons, dwarfs, mermaids, elves, mages, halflings, and the like, you’ll absolutely love the Hunters of Reloria. I’m looking forward the reading the third book in the trilogy and finding out if our heroes can save the day.

Review of Keeping His Destiny by Princess So and Talon ps

Stand Alone

Genre: Post-Apocalyptic / Dark Fantasy

Secondary Genre: Erotica

4/5/ Angel wings for Story

4/5 flames for heat

I have reviewed many of Princess So and Talon Ps’ books, and it’s fair to say I am a huge fan of their writing. Having said that, this one, Keeping His Destiny, was a little hard to review. I am not a fan of this genre in particular, but I am a lover of the written word, so I picked up my copy and started reading.

In a nutshell, the world as we know it is long gone. There are no more countries, Presidents, or Kings. Instead, there are the Blood Lords. Generals from times past who have taken over, and not in a good way.

The story centers on Tannin, a man who the Keepers of Destiny are watching over, and Aari, a woman who is more than human. It is she who Tannin seeks, for she is a Symboite, and possibly the last breeder left on what is left of Earth.

In a twist, he finds her hiding in plain sight, among the very people charged with hunting down and killing those of her kind.

A mysterious being, the Edify Mother, has brought these two together for reasons that are her own but will be made known to all soon enough.

The world created by Princess So and Talon Ps is not one for the faint of heart. It’s rough and dangerous, and things we take for granted now are nonexistent in the future. Tannin reminds me of those old gunslingers from the westerns we all watched as a child. He is a fighter, and a man who wants what was promised him; his destiny. This is an excellent read, the writing so imaginative that I can picture the world as it is written in my mind. However, having said that, one has to have a huge love of this kind of genre. The words and sayings created by the authors take some time to get through, although they did include a glossary at the end of the book, just in case you are like me and got lost once or twice.

As stated earlier, I love the authors and will read anything they write. I did enjoy Keeping his Destiny, even if I did have to use the glossary once…or twice.

Review of “Thrill of the Chase”

Book one of Horns vs. Halos series

5/5 Angel wings for story

5/5 flames for heat

OK WHERE TO START!!!

I have to say, at first I was kind of thrown, I don’t know a lot about movie sets and stunt drivers etc, but I got over that very quickly. Oliver paints a great picture of the behind the scenes working on a movie set, and that isn’t even what the books about!

We meet the mysterious Newt, and boy does HE have a surprise for our hero Chase Cody! Our hero is an everyman, happy with his job, but missing the great love of his life, the one woman who completes him. He is given a choice, and THAT choice could turn the tides in mankind.

We meet two women who will do ANYTHING to sway Chase, and let me tell you when you meet Devina!! Lord a mercy that is ONE scene that will stick with you for a LONG, LONG TIME!!

I read his first book and was impressed with his style, and his ability to tell a story, but reading

The Thrill of the Chase, I can only say he gets better… and once I got to the end of the story, I am not at all ashamed to say, I was screaming at my laptop!! NO DON’T LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THIS!!!

Get this book! Get it fast and read it slowly, because I PROMISE YOU… you will be screaming right along with me!!
